Rice Balls, commonly known in Ghana as Omo tuo, is a Ghanaian rice side-dish originating from the Hausa People, but is eaten throughout the country. It is made by cooking very soft, glutinous rice, then pounding or rolling the rice into sticky balls. Some describe it as “rice fufu” or simply as rice balls. It is often eaten with groundnut (peanut) soup and can also be eaten with palm nut soup.
Peanut butter soup on the other hand, is also a Ghanaian soup that is normally eaten with rice balls. But it can be eaten with anything from yam, potatoes, plantains, plane rice, fufu and many other starchy foods.
This combination is not only a delicious food but, it is also a nutritious delicacy due the ingredients used in preparing the soup. ingredients used in preparing the soup vary with individual preference but, the most mouth-watering ones are normally prepared the ingredients like; Peanut butter, goat meat, Peanut butter, peeled onions (one diced and one whole), ginger puree/paste, Hot peppers (preferred amount), tomato paste, Smoked mackerel and salt.
